How to boost your self-confidence & reconnect to your fearless feminine heart

Updated: Aug 9, 2024

I coach a lot of women who are wanting to improve their self-confidence.

What I have found, is that the fastest way to see lasting change in self-confidence, is doing things that push you outside of your comfort zone. Doing things that feel really bloody scary.

When I worked with my own Life Coach last year, she encouraged me to do things that made me squirm with embarrassment, but really excited me at the same time. There was resistance. A lot of resistance. But that why you work with a coach. They lovingly push you past your comfort zone to become the person you want to be.

And you know what?

As soon as I pushed past that fear barrier, and did what was scaring the crap out of me, i felt the craziest rush of adrenalin. I felt an immediate shift in my self-confidence and my self-trust. Because I did it. I did something that scared the crap out of me and I didn't die. I just levelled up.

My gorgeous friend Alana, is an exceptional example of how powerful this practice can be.

This is her body acceptance journey, told in her own words:

'12 months ago I participated in a Body Empowerment Photoshoot.

I got butt naked with a group of strangers in the bush and had an amazing photographer take stunning photos of me and 10 other women.

To this day, every time I look at these photos I am reminded of how free and beautiful and natural I felt during the photoshoot.

There was no fear, no judgement, and no negativity.

There was laughter, and freedom and love.

Then we got to see the photos.

It was beautiful and magical and empowering AND confronting and challenging and disappointing...

I saw myself in positions I’d never seen before.

Perhaps I looked at the angle of a hand or leg and felt that it should have been different.

I looked at my ‘too small’ boobs or my ‘chunky’ thighs and wondered how other people saw them...

BUT then, I looked closer.

I saw the strength in my legs and arms.

The freedom and relaxation of my poses.

The joy and cheekiness in my eyes.

The beauty and strength in my poses.

And my true femininity shining.

I didn’t expect to be confronted or disappointed by the photos, but it was part of the process.

Part of accepting my body and loving it all the more.

If you get the opportunity to be involved in a photoshoot like this; be brave, be bold, be free and trust the process to love your beautiful body, every wonderful inch!'
